Not many people want to know how they can double the weight of their Acer Aspire One, but I've recently learned how to do just that.
OK, so there's no realy profitting going on here, but the 9-cell battery for the Aspire One does add a lot of weight to such a small and light netbook. If the purpose of a netbook is to have a light portable solution for my internet needs then I may have just moved from pass to fail!
What do I have to gain from adding the 9-cell is a question that I now have to ask myself. It is really nice staying off the power tether for 7 or 8 hours, but now I've got the weight of a laptop in netbook form factor. I've not yet benchmarked the total uptime with the 9-cell, but I'll figure that out over the next couple of weeks and publish what I find.
I might need to buy a 6-cell and see if there's a happy medium out there...
